it is our massive
pleasure to announce the release of record of tides´ new album
‘intercelestial’ via mahorka on march 27, 2026. the album was produced
in summer 2025 and is the tenth album of the ‘purchases’
series. the album is supposed to be the legit follow-up to 'on a spectrum‘
(2025) while using sample-based production merging influences of idm,
techno, post hip-hop and post genre. it will be available in multiple
digital formats and as beautifully designed limited edition audio tape
cassette.
the ‘intercelestial’ album – the record of tides´ debut on
mahorka – draws its primary inspiration from a summer trip to the
dutch north sea, where piayda took some time to enjoy albums of (mostly)
german electronica artists. back home he started working on new tracks
which all ended up in the album. he was supported by long-time friend,
musician and producer michael schreiber (primal scapes), who once
again mastered the album and contributed visual material featured in the
artwork.
the album includes a collaboration with IG-75, also known as mario
meyendriesch, paying tribute to piayda’s deep-rooted connection to the
regional electronic music scene. meyendriesch, schreiber and piayda are
all part of the electric café ruhr collective – a vibrant network
of electronic musicians from the ruhr area known for jamming, producing
and performing at festivals together.
the ‘intercelestial’ album is released on mahorka and distributed
by bandcamp and archive.org, the album and will be available
in different digital formats and on beautifully designed and limited tape:

mahorka as run by ivo petrov. rumours had been circulating since
last summer, in february 2026 the label introduced piayda with an official
artist profile.
record of tides originally debuted with a physical only version
of ‘timber’ on zany music in 2004. after a 10 year hiatus the hamburg
based label kreislauf.org re-released the debut digitally followed
by new material with ‘vessel’ in 2016. the label also released ‘solna’
(2017), ‘endurance’ (2018) and ‘black album’ (2020). afterwards record
of tides returned to zany music for the ‘aural park’ vinyl
ep (2020) as well as for the collaborative 'euclids series' (2021) and
‘purchases’ series (2021–).
in january record of tides officially retired from kreislauf.org.
by signing up with mahorka record of tides takes the opportunity
to spread the music widely and hopefully reach new audiences without leaving
zany music as main artist.
sven piayda remembers the beginnings of the collaboration:
ivo was into the ‘on a spectrum’ album, so I offered him a compilation
ep back in spring 2025, instead he asked for new material to be released
on mahorka. to my own surprise, I finished the ‘intercelestial’ album
in august 2025 and we agreed on a release date in spring 2026, which left
plenty of time to develop the tape artwork and music videos. a big thank
you to ivo for giving me the opportunity to share my music on the mahorka
label and its audience, while being open-minded, supportive, and patient
throughout.

on november 22, 2025 the eunoia in mülheim an der ruhr hosted the
novembertronica festival curated by alex kupsch featuring live
sets shunsoke oshio, thomas machoczek and record of tides.
within his set sven piayda teased numerous live versions of unreleased
tracks like ‘nice try‘, ‘superdusk‘, ‘kitchen spam‘ and ‘the beach crate‘
which turned out to be material from the ‘intercelestial’ album.

update 2026-03-17: yesterday, monday, march 16, mahorka
label head ivo petrov shared the first picture of the printed 'intercelestial'
tape cassette. based on the beautifully worn-look design delivered by
sven piayda, petrov added subtle outlines to the lettering to keep the
text easily readable. the font and layout follow the classic mahorka
standard design and were not altered by piayda; the album’s distinctive
rhombus design was reduced to a bi-tone version and either harmonized
or partially removed to fit the required text. we hope that the tape edition
will also be available on march 27.
as the cassette will be released in a very limited quantity, we recommend
placing a preorder as soon as possible.
the makroscope in mülheim an der ruhr launched
radio makro, it´s online-based community radio curated by katharina
geling on october 19, 2025, the station is on air and presenting music
and shows since.
the program also features 'zany hour', sixty minutes of songs and tracks
from zany music. here sven piayda himself picks songs and tracks
from the zany music label catalogue which is growing since 1999.
the episodes focus on artists like AESTATE, architects of utter
destruction, the flamma piayda complex, penrose delta,
record of tides, primal scapes as well as on collaborations
and guest artist features.

now we are up to announce the last episode of zany hour featuring
music from the zany music catalogue and beyond: this episode will
feature three tracks from the upcoming record of tides album. in
episode 6 piayda phoned in his farewell words to the listeners of the
radio station, he originally left a message that made a hint at plans
for a second season of zany hour or a new show concept. in january
2026 he was phoning in a new message on quitting the show and leaving
radio makro.

on sunday, february 22, the kunstmuseum gelsenkirchen opened the
2026 group show featuring artists based in or connected to the city. the
exhibition ‘open house: kunstszene gelsenkirchen’ also features sven piayda´s
new piece ‘get you the moon’, a circular dibond cgi phptography showing
a rendering of the moon.
the exhibition reader describes the piece as following: medienreflexion
und digitale romantik: sven piayda ist ein konzeptuell-visuell arbeitender
künstler, der vornehmlich fotografie, video, klang und musik sowie computermanipuliertes
und -generiertes bildmaterial nutzt. ausgang der arbeit ’get you the moon’
ist keine fotografie, sondern ein computergrafisches, rohdatenbasiertes
bild eines modells, das auf den datensätzen der NASA beruht. die arbeit
zeigt den mond wissenschaftlich präzise und zugleich romantisch aufgeladen.
der titel der arbeit verweist zudem auf wirtschaftliche interessen an
der mondfahrt. dabei reflektiert die arbeit die kontrolle einer bildproduktion
in einer von daten geprägten welt.

as march 27, 2026 is supposed to be a big day celebrating music, collaboration
and art, we will hopefully bring together some zany music collaborators
with the art scene by celebrating the reopening of clowns & pferde
gallery with a solo show by gallery head bianca wickinghoff entitled 'color
me happy'. piayda has been exhibiting here in 2021 and 2013 and remained
a long-time supportive friend of the gallery. you may also meet piayda

on march 1 primal scapes announced the release of his new album
entitled ‘somnia’ coming march15, 2026. the album will once again feature
michael schreiber, sven piayda, chris huff and jan van aachen. schreiber
called it a hybrid between full album and ep featuing eight tracks. the
album will be available digitally only in multiple digital formats and
distributed via bandcamp.
promoting the upcoming release, schreiber has shared a studio live version
of the new track ‘tidesurge’ which can be watched over at youtube.

michael schreiber writes: 'somnia' - the title of my new album was
inspired by the 'fuzzy dreamlike state' that many tracks on the album
feel like. following the concecpt of the 2022 released album 'macrocosm'
to bring synth and guitar together on a decent level - we tried to go
even further with a growing trust in our production process. Speaking
of 'we' I am talking about some great musicians involved - credits go
to: sven piayda (guitars and cover art), chris huff (bass) and jan van
aachen (drums).

we are extremely pleased to announce the release of ‘echoes over paradise’,
the fourth album of architects of utter destruction on march 6,
2026. zany music already put out the single ‘bombshell
(single edit)’ on january 1. the album is available in different digital
formats and features eight songs among ‘bombshell’ as album version. it
was written mainly back in summer 2024 and spring 2025 and was recorded
in summer 2025.
the new songs feature architects of utter destruction formed with sven
piayda (record of tides, AESTATE) on vocals and guitar,
chris huff (AESTATE, penrose delta, primal scapes)
on bass and jan van aachen (primal scapes) on drums. michael schreiber
(primal scapes, all-notes-off) contributes vocals, synth,
programming and production for the song ‘dust ride’ which is actually
a cover of a sven
song released back in 2009. schreiber has also directed a music video
for the song which is out on the day of album release. he has become an
on/off-member since producing the band´s cover version of the erasure
classic ‘always’ and is involved in the band´s future productions as well.
additional drums by scott rockenfield, josh freese and johannes alfrer
have also been added within the productions.
the band´s sound has become even more variable by merging different genres
like hip-hop, country and symphonic music into the context of rock music.
the band is also working on material for a fifth and final album, programming
and lyrics are in progress to be completed. the next album is supposed
to be the final one for the group.
