plastic in dortmund.
on behalf of café mono curator florian grass record of tides
will perform his fist and once-only beatless ambient set ever and for
the slowroom event series. piayda will play a set of live versions
from beetles tracks from the catalogue. piayda notes that the set is supposed
to be wild and dramatic although it will not contain any beats at all.

2026-02-01: bulgarian label mahorka officially teams up with record
of tides for the next release. rumours had been circulating since last
summer, and now the label has introduced piayda with an official artist
profile. the upcoming album, reportedly completed in august 2025, is scheduled
for a spring release, though no exact date has been confirmed. label and
artist are currently finalizing artwork and promotional material. these
are truly exciting news.

2025, the gmünder kunstverein opened the exhibition ’collaborative
futures’, which also featured sven piayda’s ’beachball’. on friday, 30
january 2026, the exhibition will conclude with a finissage. you are cordially
invited to the closing event on january 30th in schwäbisch gmünd.

8:00 pm at the kunstverein: new short films on our theme have been created
at the schwäbisch gmünd university of design. we will be showing four
of them and discussing them. (these films are not eligible for the audience
award.)
9:00 pm announcement of the three audience award winners. we will post
the announcement directly on instagram. dinner and drinks will follow.

on sunday, february 22, the kunstmuseum gelsenkirchen will open
the 2026 group show featuring artists based in or connected to the city.
the exhibition ‘open house: kunstszene gelsenkirchen’ is curated by ulrike
riebel and roger rohrbach.
with this exhibition, the kunstmuseum gelsenkirchen once again
highlights the city’s creative potential. it reveals the richness and
dynamism of gelsenkirchen’s art scene and the artistic energy that drives
it. the exhibition presents recent works by artists who were born in gelsenkirchen,
who live and work here, or who have shaped the city as an important place
of their artistic practice. the works on display encompass a wide range
of media, including painting, photography, cyanotype, collage, ceramics,
sound, installation, and sculpture, as well as graphic and textile art.
this diversity reflects the variety of artistic approaches, themes, and
techniques that characterize gelsenkirchen’s creative landscape.
the show will also feature sven piayda´s new piece ‘get you the moon’,
a circular dibond cgi phptography showing a rendering of the moon. as
lunar missions resume, new desires for territory on the moon are likely
to emerge; who will ultimately own the moon remains an open question.
through its title, however, the moon becomes a romantic projection surface:
anyone who has ever wished to 'give someone the moon' can now quite literally
do so – provided they acquire the artwork. in this deliberately minimal
piece, science and the art world, romance and capital intersect.
he is expected to be present for the opening, the show will be on display
until april 26, 2026.

the makroscope in mülheim an der ruhr launched radio makro,
it´s online-based community radio curated by katharina geling on october
19, 2025, the station is on air and presenting music and shows since.
the program also features 'zany hour', sixty minutes of songs and tracks
from zany music. here sven piayda himself picks songs and tracks
from the zany music label catalogue which is growing since 1999.
the episodes focus on artists like AESTATE, architects of utter
destruction, the flamma piayda complex, penrose delta,
record of tides, primal scapes as well as on collaborations

on saturday, november 22, the eunoia in mülheim an der ruhr hosted
the novembertronica festival. the small festival curated by alex
kupsch welcomed a very interested audience enjoying a night of the 30-minute
live sets opened by shunsoke oshio, followed by record of tides
and thomas machoczek.

at novembertronica 2025-22-11'. the recording documents the room ambience

on december 12, 2025 michael schreiber announced via facebook a new album
by primal scapes to come in february 2026:
excited to announce the next record at the door - well it has been
a long break as life intervened and successfully sucked up the power and
love to create a new chapter. songwriting was a slow and long process
this time with the need of life around music calming down again. it took
some time to get ‘the team’ together for studio recordings - sven piayda
a.k.a. record of tides (guitar), chris huff (bass) and jan van aachen
(drums) reunite again for you to create some kind of acoustic delight.
bending rules - between ep and album - eight tracks close the circle -
where the last one is work in progress at the moment. the title will be
‘somnia’ reflecting the state of a dreamlike atmosphere.

zany music has announced to bring back AESTATE ‘greatest hits’
as 10th anniversary reissue on bandcamp in multiple digital high quality
formats. the compilation album was originally commissioned for the ‘hungertuch
award’, which the group had received in 2015.
huff and piayda have arranged bonus material coming with the original
tracks of the re-release. it features AESTATE´s final live performance
at artemis in recklinghausen in 2014 and a ‘6548 prov aiida’ mash-up
which sounded at ‘the sound of the multitude’ in mülheim an der ruhr at
june 10, 2023 in context of urbane künste ruhr.
like the 2021 album reissues ‘greatest hits’ will come up with a re-edited
cover.
huff and piayda have not released or performed as AESTATE since 2016.
nevertheless, the group has never split up officially. rumours on future
activities or releases are not commented.
the compilation album ‘greatest hits’ (10th anniversary reissue) out on
zany music on november 28, 2025 is distributed via bandcamp digitally
only.
