it has been a long year, no this is not my personal summary. well, a lot
of things went into the false direction, others into the right one. i
can´t really say if i´m into christmas or not, but, it is
always time to calm down, to close a chapter and go over to the next.

after
tying to find a date, after this planning and putting ideas into storyboards
i have to give in. unfortunately, there will be no video for "actually".
well, usually i like to work alone as much as possible, it is hard to
find space for larger projects. you know, whenever i direct videos for
my own work or aestate it is more playing around with shapes and
visual effects. i don´t like to act myself, i don´t consider
myself as a great actor, but this time i was up for a more classic video
with acting (no, not myself) and a short animated sequence. the video
i have in mind is inspired by sinéad o'connor´s "nothing compares
2 u" as dircted by john maybury. well, we don´t find the time
to shoot, we don´t have the time for postproduction and rehearsals
anymore. i´m not angry about it, because we all took it very seriously,
but when it´s over, it´s over. we all are keen on the idea,
we will probably shoot next year, but not for promotional reasons but
for fun. i also had the idea for a compleately animated video (because
i always knew there was not much time) but all my alternative ideas didn´t
really convince myself. |

i
feel like being in movie, i mean, things around arrange themselves in
strange ways... i was up to tavel to hamburg this weekend to see some
good friends, to find new ones, to join a party, to collect some visual
material to create photo tableaus and videos (i have great ideas, my days
are to short...) well, the car which was supposed to be used broke down
at midnight. it was a fantastic evening and the car took me home, but
it refused to take the others home. calling the adac was a challange and
took some time, it was strage - a perfect night, which turned into a stressful
situation in the end. thank god, we are cool and social people, no problem.

yeah,
finishing a record... these are the days i usually think about throwing
it all away, doing something else, gardening for example. seems like i
have found the right sound for the album, it turned out to be very heavy
and...well, there are so many infulences in it, whenever you think "yes,
i´ve got it!" there is a break and the song turns into a compleatly
different direction. it is a lot more indie than "euphoria",
less pop, more metal, rock, frence house, folk and industrial. and ouf
course a lot of progarmming, bleeps and beats... SVEN

- what a day. juicy beats was great fun for all of us. i was quite nervous
before, being afraid of a thousand things that can go wrong. before i tell
you more about the bands we watched on stage, i have to tell some stories
which actually happened backstage. well, we were hanging up backstage to get some food, free drings and stuff and to hang around with the big ones. you know, jb12 was headlined by deichkind and gus gus. after lunch i took a look around to see my heros from iceland, and bingo, there tey are. gus gus lead singer earth was quite busy surrounded by family and band mates, while gus gus chief electrician president bongo was up for some beer after dinner. i was going mad: "hey, they are over there, we need a photo, but i would not dare." alex of factor-4 said:"you are going to be angry about yourself, if you miss it!" i said: "yeah, i know, but i´m to shy." he replied: "ok, let´s do it!" we went over to bongo and asked nervously for a photo, he seemed to be quite surprised, but kind. he slided over, i sat next to him, feeling stupid like a 12-year-old girl next to robbie williams. alex took some pics of me grinning like hell next to bongo (he was also simling, unfortunately you cannot see it on this pic). after photographing bongo asked: "are you in a band or what?" i tried to break down the complex background of my appearance into three sentences...he was going:"ahhh..i see" that was enough making a fool of us, so i left with "i´m looking forard to see you on stage" he said:"thank you", and he meant it, beacause backstage everyone seems to be the biggest fish, all these bands are systems which usually do not collide. we didn´t meet deichkind backstage, but they played a mad gig. they were absolutly crazy and entertaining, no chance to stand still for two hours. alex and marcel watched the gig backstage at one site of the stage... at the end of the performance, deichkind wanted to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their group by charing 1500 beer cans with the audience - not for drinking. the audience was instructed to shake and open the cans at the beginning beats of their hit "limit". and they did. the biggest beer shower i´ver ever seen, well for about 30 seconds there was nothing else to see! after their gig we went backstage again to have a drink, and one of the deichkind members came out of their "headliner tent" to serve some chesse and dried tomatos, telling: "like some cheese? we have to much catering in there!" we said thanks...and best whishes! |

 some backstage impressions on the left, right marcel (factor-4) and me in front of the deichkind tent after dinner, enjoying the sun, which started shining after our gig!  driving around through the park with a black mercedes shuttle bus, tinted glass included. wow, we felt like eminem or madonna, extremly importand anyway!  the two acts after factor-4: miniroc making the gameboys explode and massiv seducing with perfect sound and show. why do these people don´t have a big deal?  turning to the main stage: klee in the early evening, the others loved it, i didnt really understand. anyway, nice show, cute warm up for the upcoming blast...  gus gus, finally! wow, me in the third row, i was not the only one. as you see: perfect clothing, perfect make-up, perfect show and unbelivable sound. see president bongo playing with the knobs in the middle..."germany has only one president today!"  nuklear blast at last: deichkind with useful "instruments" on stage: a bass guitar (okay), a bouncing castle, a trampoline, umbrellas, two dinghies, 1500 beer cans and whatever!!! okay, it wasn´t a real live concert, but the most (flat) entertaining show you can think of. by the way, i didn´t take the beer shower, i had an uneasy sense of it before...somehow. it´s deichkind, you must expect something like that! |

gotcha! no, no girly stories here. chat names? aw, come on. ok, let´s
start at the beginning. as you might already know, i am working on a new
album - next to other things. i do not want to tell to much, but actually,
i don´t know if this is going to be my best work, but it is going
to be the darkest and most strange one. when i was writing and arranging
songs i thought of acoustic guitars. i develloped more into the wall
of sound and electronica stuff section so i do not possess the
right guitar. i mean, i have some acoustig guitars, but none with steel
strings and a piezo pick-up. so i contacted some guitar playing friends...and
it all ended up with stefan! he is a cool guy and, hm, you should know him,
he was the bass player of my band apologies. some of you are new, some cannot remember, i found a photo:  yeah, this is us, stefan on the left, jörg "jay" hammes in the middle (he joined me for record of tides and euphoria) and a long haired strage looking guy who is, uhm, me. this picture was taken in 2001, we wanted it to look like an anton corbijn photo. anyway, this is where i know stefan from, and you have the whole story. all i want to tell is, i have stefan´s guitar and i´m going to use it. that´s it. i´m in a bad mood sometimes, these days (have a look outside...), but stefan´s guitar, an acoustic 12-string-acoustic by fender makes me feel better, it sounds great. i´m afrait of susie becoming jealous - i bought new strings for her today, she knows that "REAL LOVE NEVER DIE" i hope so. ten songs. scary stuff. i feel like a bad bowie. or a good patton. something in between... the photo of me an "steffi12" as i call her, was taken and contributed by ms d. thanks for that. it helps me to remember and others to laugh. zany music releases featuring jörg hammes and me: sven | euphoria record of tides | timber

| i´m
very busy at the moment, still. anyway, i try to capture as much culture
as possible, you know, i like the electric playground. by many happy circumstances
and some help i was able to visit the 17th international video festival
in bochum. i was late anyway, than drawn to a photo exhibition dealing with
"forgotten concrete", see how nature takes back all the grey and
cold concrete shapes. very beautiful, seducing and killing my schedule.
so i could watch at least the screening of the last video about computer
gamers... you know, there´s a hip exhibition with new media, there must be a party afterwards, and again: visuals. i became a little bit melancholic, being reminded of the days with Sellafield. it wasn´t perfect, but i guess we were on the right track for some time, the sfd.site is still on, we will have to turn it into something different, sfd is over. i will hopefully return to the festival, because i haven´t seen to much. manager ms bloom told me to return, and i told to give it a try, she said it is going to be perfect and i believe her based on the little stuff i´ve seen. the festival will be on today and tomorrow, and you should not miss it. if i´m not able to visit, you can tell me afterwards. seriously, see you there, probably, hopefully. the present | recommended links: www.videofestival.org www.sellafield-online.com the past | recommended links: www.aestate-online.com www.libella-proof.de the future | t.b.a. questions? complaints? click here |

checking in, checking out, it is great in...where? | entry by sven |

| maybe
you know, maybe you don´t, i´m recently very busy with different
stuff...i am travelling a lot this year...there are many projects, which
have to be done in a special place: everywhere but home, will get lost in
my appartment one day? we´ll never know. being in hotels seems to
be so romantic, but usally it is just frantic. when i hand back the key
i´m telling everyone around that i am "checking out", like
a global player business man would do. in the end it is just frantic... no big business pretending... many of my projects became vivid, i started them, often helped by others, sometimes helping others, always in a perfect networking sense. i am so proud on the aestate thing, the album, the live stuff, the video stuff, the fans and helpers. don´t get me wrong, i do not say that it is perfect or the best thing you can think of, but i love it, and it is satisfiing to see it taking off, having created something very special...i guess. the libella proof thing was also great - and it isn´t finished now, there are still some things to be fixed. doing the art direction for a project which differs compleately from what i would usually do is great. new paths in your brain for new thoughts. and the future is wild: i hope there is more time in the next weeks, i am thinking of recording new songs, i have enough songs for a whole album, we´ll see, maybe for spring 2008. i also want to start working on a photograph retrospective catalogue, my tableaus from 2005 until now, the best ones in one tiny book. i like books with images. additionally there are some rumours on a strange collaboration and live dates, you can already find some news on the net about that, i won´t comment it now, svennet will come up with these news within the next weeks. the past | recommended links: www.aestate-online.com www.libella-proof.de the future | t.b.a. questions? complaints? click here |

much going on, seriously, there is so much to tell, first of all, we are
working on a summary of the fantastic AESTATE performance last friday and
its aftermath. also, there is a lot of new music to come, but i dont want
to tell more now, you´ll see. everyone is busy at the moment, so am i, so this is just a short hello, and a promise for more to come. last night i heard some strange noises in my garden, of couse i was afraid of alien encounters, but thank god, just a hedgehog. it appears from time ti time in my garden, whyever, but this time it was sitting in the middle of the meadow, totally unimpressed of my appearance. so there was enough time to return with a camera for some pictures. it didn´t move, like a professional model, but then it left slowly without saying goodbye. real superstar behavior. well, there is an eagle in your mind and a hedgehog in your garden, i guess these are good surroundings for new borders. i just need some less stressful days, and hell, some summer weather. please. a.s.a.p.: a tiny review: AESTATE / a little later: some plans for 2007, splendid!!! please check electric-unity.com for more info on AESTATE and releated artists  questions? complaints? click here |

| wow,
that was a lot. you know, i´m heavily interested in live performances these
days. yes, rock concerts often seem to be a little boring to me, i don´t
know, there are just a couple of bands and artists, i am interested in to
stand 60 minutes of their riffing. yeah, miniroc was great, i told
you so, autechre were a divine blast and my own AESTATE...i
like our stuff, thank god, i´m not the only one, so i am still sane...somehow.
this saturday i joined a concert of four experimental musicians, brought
together as strange encounters. three parts, two couples for 45 minutes,
all togeteher in the end. wow, compared to their improvised rhythemless
sound layers AESTATE appears like mainstream pop. heavy, i mean heavy
heavy stuff. i was so impressed by the self-esteemness of the performers,
following the straigt concept of their own idea of experimentalism, i can

you write songs and you start to become happy with the result more or less,
you get aware of a certain ability. when you are younger you are afraid
of losing it, so you go on an on. then you try to come up with an evidence
for yourself to make sure you cannot lose it...looking on your own backcatalogue.
then you get older and shortly after calming down you do not become afraid
of losing it, it is more becoming afraid of running out of blood. is ther
still something to say? will i become an allegory of myself? the funny thing
about it is that you can never realize if it is happening to you. writing
songs is not only a job, it is falling out with yourself. believe me, it
is going deep down into the burrow. ok, so many words, so less sense. i am writing songs again, i hope to record ne stuff this summer, nothing sure, nothing planned, i don´t know if this stuff is good enough, but i want to keep you in touch to let you know, i´m not only hanging around on art fairs, not only taking rediculous pics of flint and not only pushing snare samples. after four albums, it is really getting harder and harder, i´m focussing on rock, recently. well, my list to be updated, here are the working titles. soothe actually (you and i will meet someday) wild is the wind maria, i´m losing time fire works fine with me night falls three fists for the meantime; the best i can offer: questions? complaints? click here |

| Diesen
Samstag war es soweit: Wir haben zwar nicht den heiligen Gral gefunden,
aber wenn er hier gelegen hätte, wer er wahrscheinlich super präsentiert
worden. Sven und Flint waren auf der Art Cologne. Wir starteten von Svens
Hauptquartier aus um die Welt der Kunst zu entdecken. Allerdings nicht ohne
uns vorher zu stärken, im Tempel der Genüsse: McDonalds. Gut gestärkt machten wir uns auf den holprigen Weg zur Köln Messe und dort erwartete uns 4 Stunden Kunst pur die kaum von vier Augen aufgenommen werden konnten. Die Hallen waren prall gefüllt und riesig, doch Gott sei dank hatte ich meinen Sven Sven 2.0 dabei, der in jeder Lage den Überblick behielt. Es gab wirklich alles: von skurill bis seriös, von riesig bis wirklich winzig bis hin zu sehr atemberaubenden und auch leider wirklich langweiligen. Doch gerade die skurillen, mechanischen Kunstwerke die viel krach machten, zogen uns immer wieder in ihren Bann, egal in welcher Halle wir uns grad befanden. Doch auch die größten Kunst-Krieger brauchen eine Sache genau so wie jeder Andere: Flüssigkeit! Nachdem unsere Evian-Vorräte zur neige gingen entschieden wir uns unseren Körpern Vitamine zu verpassen, teure Vitamine. 3,50 Euro für 0,2 Liter Orangensaft scheinen machen übertrieben, aber nicht uns. Nach Gefühlten 6 Stunden Bücher gucken mit Sven führte uns unser Weg zurück nach Essen, aber eins war uns die ganze Zeit bewusst: Wir werden an diesen Platz zurückkehren, nächstes Jahr um ein neues Kapitel zu beginnen auf der ewig wehrenden Suche etwas Schönes zu sehen. |

forgot to send out happy easter wishes, i was to buisy or to lazy, i forgot,

my camera was always ready to shoot, i´m a kind of artistic lucky

pierre. i was shooting, wondering what i was doing, did flint eat to

of a dangerous mind. in the early morning hours of march 5th i was crusing
with my 500 ps suv through the city, measuring 150 miles per hour. so the
police took a picture. no, seriously, i was just 10 km/h to fast. if you
are a happy owner of such a picture you find more and more people collecting
these expensive low-quality artworks on their pinboards. so do i. this is

you simply have to wait for years. these times are full of hope surrounded
by darkness. woman artist phonix comes up with new paintings. just another
opportunity to feel better. phoenix is well kown for her childesque and
cute art, totally naive and seducing. next to her huge number of paintings
she has been working with me on the covers for diptych and trinity.
her work panders between a strong conceptual approach and the flow of the

some art again. it was really hard to find some interesting shows over the
last months. spectacular cities was a must see - fo all of us. flint also
became an art addict, after visiting a tiny show in the kunsthaus essen.
he forced me to write something, he was just to shy or busy to contribute
something on his own. spectacular cities was great, i mean, a good show,
no real illumination or something, but entertaining actually and a starting

telling too much i have to admit that after the advent of computers i do
not parctise guitar as often as i did before...but i remember biran may
who mentioned to have the best ideas on guitar after having not touched
his red special for six weeks. i guess i know what he means.i do a lot of
things recently. above you see me riffing on herpes´strat copy, after
finishing a photo shootiong for him. see svenpiayda.com/photography for details. next to that i spent a lot of time in front af my macbook, surfing the net and searching for new rhythm patterns for aestate, so i´m not really playing too much guitar. but i still do, anyway. today i did something i didn´t do for years: i´ve recorded a demo!!! bad sound, just fixing the idea. i just want you to know, euphoria wasn´t the last chapter. my lyrics aren´t really good, but, hey, they get better. just wantet to say i´m still working on solo stuff, have a chorus, scheduled for 2008. hell... i loved you without a reason now i hate you for a certain one nothing will last forever like you used to say and you´re right ´cause wild is the wind so long, and thanks for the fish... questions? complaints? click here |

what to do with 900 grams of finest salmon filet? right, invite some friends
and have agreat evening. thank god i wasn´t the one with the fish
gift, flint was. an this is good for different reasons. the most important
one is: flint is the better cook, well, probably the best male kitchen master
i know, so we had a great menu of omega 3 fat. tasty, exclusive, healthy.
the evening was framed in a collection of videos by wired al yankovic and an old invader zim episode. yeah and star wars III. why i tell you? dunno. eating fish may be helpful to be a good musician. no? i had enough fish anyway. so long, and thanks for the fish... questions? complaints? click here |

| ahh,
some art again. the kunsthaus in essen shows some new art, this time i´m
exited, photographs again. i know i will be tired like hell, maybe a little
burned out, but, hey, tomorrows pics for free, what else would you ask for???
seriously, you know i´m very much into photography, let´s have
a look on what the others do. usually one hour is enough to see everything,
come on, give me some good art again. by the way, the SVENBLOG has been redesigned for 2007. hope you like it, you won´t need it if you check svennet and the journal frequently. but some people need an extra page. hell yes. whatever. at least i would like to give you a historic moment, ready??? aestate is getting closer. okay, how do you feel? questions? complaints? click here |
