Of Tides :: black album
Tourmente des temps. Un ... " Black album" ?
Ok go !
subsistance ... virale. Une illusion initiale, un faux-semblant modulable,
émouvant probablement, un " trompe l'oeil" savamment construit, maquillage dissimulant
d'authentiques espoirs secrets. Record Of Times dissimule la lumière et l'éclairage
n'en est que plus intense. Torment of the times.
Torment of the
times. A... "Black album"? Temptation was obviously omnipresent. Must we,
at this point, open the prism of a "pestilential" look and his old friend "pandemic"?
We logically hate the preamble to that line. If, by any chance, you were (already)
... judiciously present for the seminal Solna, If, by any chance, you were all
the more attentive to Endurance... Yes, yes, yes, yes... Ok go! Let's open,
without controversy... this beautiful enigma (no doubt about it). What should
we do with this alleged darkness, intentionally displayed or not? Sven Piayda,
of course, is enjoying our current daily torpor, so productive of mental lockdowns,
and (sometimes) fleeting flashes of consciousness. Sven Piayda is an artist who
pays attention to detail. If, this terribly "Black" album could seem, beforehand,
sinuous, it could easily become a dead end, a dark corridor, it is not, because
the blood of this one is not black, it is ROT, red acronym powerfully generating
its own subsistence ... viral. An initial illusion, a modulated pretence,
probably moving, a cleverly constructed "trompe-l'œil", make-up concealing authentic
secret hopes. Record Of Times conceals the light and the lighting is all the more
intense. (Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator) thierry massard

michael schreiber (all notes off) 'black album' I
would describe the recent released "black album" from Record Of Tides as orchestral
to rough electronic on a detailed level. Many aspects of music - mixing ideas
and thoughts melt into soundscapes. I'd like to share some ideas on my favourite
tracks of the album. 'Exxa' is a special track to me - with it's driving clear
rhythmic and melodic theme which builds up a sweet flow. Once you feel comfortable
with it - the flow turns into white water which drives you insane before the flow
calms again. 'Cereal Reduction' is a special track for me, too. With some experimental
and beautiful sounds - it leaves a lot of free space for your mind to think and
feel about the harmonics. 'Snow_1-7_140' I would describe as the chase and
play between the bassline and the arpeggio. 'Horns of Paradise' combines the
massive aspect of a classic sounding natural instruments refurbished the electronic
way with a little spice of pure electro sounds with a high "play it again" factor.
Listen in - pretty sure you won't regret it.

guido richter (kratzwerk) ’black album’ review
’Exxa ’ erinnert mich an ’See On See’ von Autechre. Schöne
Melodie.
