of tides performed live twice at eunoia in mülheim an der ruhr.
on behalf of eunoia curator alex kupsch, piayda presented an a/v
live set on may 31 and returned for the novembertronica festival
on november 22 to play alongside shunsoke oshio and thomas machoczek.
kupsch delivered recordings of the gig, capturing both the room ambience
and the line-out signal. while the microphone-based recordings have already
been released as a live album available via bandcamp, the line-out material
had not been used until now. piayda selected tracks from the recordings
to be mastered by michael schreiber and compiled them for this release.
‘eunoia sessions’ serves as a kind of best-of album, delivering distinctive
tracks that appear as wild live performances while maintaining studio
quality. it features three alternate versions from the recent ‘intercelestial’
album, as well as the classic ‘exxa’ and the previously unreleased ‘noema’.
piayda originally assembled tracks from the may 31 gig to be released
as ‘eunoia session’ on eunoia’s bandcamp site. as the project was
delayed and later abandoned, piayda added the novembertronica tracks,
with schreiber finding a mastering approach that matched the first batch
of recordings. piayda also created a new cover based on a photograph by
kupsch, capturing the theatre’s signature colour and mood.

actually, it’s difficult to give a precise number, as there are numerous
releases spanning albums, eps, compilations, outtakes, mixes, remixes,
soundtracks, live recordings, riffing works, collaborations and side-project
albums. we are currently trying to bring some structure into the canon;
until then, feel free to explore everything over at recordoftides.com.
‘eunioa sessions’ is marking the last release of the ‘intercelestial’
era, starting with live versions of tracks performed at the novembertronica
festival on november 22, 2025 and its recording released on december 25,
2025. it was followed by the ‘intercelestial’ album as release on mahorka
on march 27, 2026 and closed by the line-up recordings of certain and
further tracks of the album.
‘eunioa sessions’ will be available as name-you-price-download for the
first days after release, ‘intercelestial’ and ‘live at novembertronica
2025-11-22’ will remain available as name-you-price-download, ‘intercelestial’
is also still available in cassette tape.

being part of the 2026 edition of the mülheimer kunstsommer the
galerie an der ruhr/ruhr gallery opened the exhibition 'elefant
im porzellanladen!?' – 'elephant in the ceramic store!?' on july 5. this
show features the unveiling of artworks that playfully and provocatively
engage with the metaphor of the 'bull in a china shop', inviting visitors
to reflect on fragility, disruption, and artistic intervention.
the show features sven piayda´s new piece ‘get you the moon’, a circular
dibond cgi photography showing a rendering of the moon. as lunar missions
resume, new desires for territory on the moon are likely to emerge; who
will ultimately own the moon remains an open question. through its title,
however, the moon becomes a romantic projection surface: anyone who has
ever wished to 'give someone the moon' can now quite literally do so –
provided they acquire the artwork. in this deliberately minimal piece,
science and the art world, romance and capital intersect.
the show also include a memory card game version of the mini series ‘a.i.dreaming’,
reflecting the development of artificial intelligence and its dangers
in recent history. the miniseries was created in 2018 at the beginning
of the hype surrounding artificial intelligence. based on a cgi rendering,
the a.i. reworked the image and gave it the look characteristic of its
time. in doing so, piayda pursues the idea of an autonomous image completely
detached from any reality. in light of the current rapid development of
artificial intelligence and its ability to generate images, piayda’s work
appears reassuringly naïve today; emerging dangers resulting from conflicts
of interest with unrestrained machines are not yet discernible here. it
is precisely this retrospective view of past limitations that makes the
work seem like an ominous prophecy. it is supposed to be exhibited as
an original memory card version.
for the first time exhibiting at ruhr gallery matthias danberg contributed
a piece to the show as well. above you see piayda and danberg next to
their works in the exhibition, piayda behind ‘a.i. dreaming’ (left) and
danberg in front of his piece ‘christpherus’ (right). both did a common
and critically acclaimed show at kunstraum unten entitled ‘tragic
kingdom (exquisite boredom)’ and collaborated for numerous audio visual
works.
here is another photo from the opening, piayda under his piece ‘get you
the moon’ which is presented in the perfect and anticipated place for
this artwork. it has already been on display before during the ‘open house’
group show at kunstmuseum gelsenkirchen during winter and spring
2026.
the kultursommer extends beyond the exhibition itself, offering
open studio days in the villa artis on july 11 and 12, where visitors
can explore twelve working artist studios and experience the creative
processes behind the scenes. on july 19, the program continues with 'art
talk & touch', a ‘mülheim art sunday’ event for which the renowned artist
ha schult has been invited. this day includes a major charity art auction
featuring donated works and pieces from the kkrr collection, reinforcing
the community-oriented spirit of the cultural summer.

for the label´s planck tone series. record of tides had
been featured previously within this format for episode #150 called ‘playlist
1: amber echoe drops’ as curated by trevlad. the recent episode
mixed by piayda is called ‘planck tone #161 "precious memories of the
future" (w/ record of tides)’ and features affiliated projects, long-time
collaborators and label mates like AESTATE, architects of utter destruction,
christophe bailleau, stefan christoff, dissociative identity quartet,
dissolved, dolphins of venice, hexalyne, chris huff, HYRN, ig-75, ka:jel,

it is our massive pleasure to announce the release of record of tides´
new album ‘intercelestial’ via mahorka on march 27, 2026. the album
was produced in summer 2025 and is the tenth album of the ‘purchases’
series. the album is supposed to be the legit follow-up to 'on a spectrum‘
(2025) while using sample-based production merging influences of idm,
techno, post hip-hop and post genre. it will be available in multiple
digital formats and as beautifully designed limited edition audio tape
cassette.
the ‘intercelestial’ album – the record of tides´ debut on
mahorka – draws its primary inspiration from a summer trip to the
dutch north sea, where piayda took some time to enjoy albums of (mostly)
german electronica artists. back home he started working on new tracks
which all ended up in the album. he was supported by long-time friend,
musician and producer michael schreiber (primal scapes), who once
again mastered the album and contributed visual material featured in the
artwork.
the album includes a collaboration with IG-75, also known as mario
meyendriesch, paying tribute to piayda’s deep-rooted connection to the
regional electronic music scene. meyendriesch, schreiber and piayda are
all part of the electric café ruhr collective – a vibrant network
of electronic musicians from the ruhr area known for jamming, producing
and performing at festivals together.
the ‘intercelestial’ album is released on mahorka and distributed
by bandcamp and archive.org, the album and will be available
in different digital formats and on beautifully designed and limited tape:

after months of preparation, bulgaria-based label mahorka has finally
released the new record of tides album 'intercelestial'. the release
is available via bandcamp and archive.org in multiple digital formats
as a name-your-price download. the album also comes as a beautifully designed
tape in a limited run of 50 copies. make sure to get yours before they

on february 18, 2026, record of tides performed an ambient live
set for the slowroom event series at mono/black plastic
in dortmund. on behalf of café mono curator florian grass record
of tides performed his fist and once-only beatless ambient set ever.
piayda noted that the set was supposed to be wild and dramatic although
not containing any beats at all.

we are extremely pleased to announce the release of ‘echoes over paradise’,
the fourth album of architects of utter destruction on march 6,
2026. zany music already put out the single ‘bombshell
(single edit)’ on january 1. the album is available in different digital
formats and features eight songs among ‘bombshell’ as album version. it
was written mainly back in summer 2024 and spring 2025 and was recorded
in summer 2025.
the new songs feature architects of utter destruction formed with sven
piayda (record of tides, AESTATE) on vocals and guitar,
chris huff (AESTATE, penrose delta, primal scapes)
on bass and jan van aachen (primal scapes) on drums. michael schreiber
(primal scapes, all-notes-off) contributes vocals, synth,
programming and production for the song ‘dust ride’ which is actually
a cover of a sven
song released back in 2009. schreiber has also directed a music video
for the song which is out on the day of album release. he has become an
on/off-member since producing the band´s cover version of the erasure
classic ‘always’ and is involved in the band´s future productions as well.
additional drums by scott rockenfield, josh freese and johannes alfrer
have also been added within the productions.
the band´s sound has become even more variable by merging different genres
like hip-hop, country and symphonic music into the context of rock music.
the band is also working on material for a fifth and final album, programming
and lyrics are in progress to be completed. the next album is supposed
to be the final one for the group.
